Gabi Seeleitner lives and works in Vienna as a performer, choreographer and dance/motopaedagogue. She studied piano at the Vienna Conservatory (MUK), later dance/improvisation in Vienna (Esther Linley, Mark Harris, Anthony Stafford, Sonia Mota) and New York (Merce Cunningham) and psychomotor development support at VaLeo. Together with 6 artists from the fields of visual arts, composition, acting and dance, she founded the collective KLAUS, with whom she has been developing and staging site-specific performances in Vienna for 7 years. The focus of her work is the questioning, revitalisation and co-creation of public places through performance/dance art and, subsequently, the artistic mediation and discourse with local residents and spontaneous spectators on site. Gabi has been leading dance projects for children and young people for 30 years and has worked for Kultursommer Wien, ImPulsTanz, Dschungel Wien – Theatre House for Young Audiences, University of Ljubljana, Graz Art University, Carinthian Summer, the Vienna State Opera Ballet School and as a dance/motopedagogue for the OeAD and the Amerlinghaus children's group.
