Alfredo Barsuglia, born 1980 in Graz, lives and works in Vienna.Barsuglia has received numerous awards and scholarships, including the Art Promotion Prize of the Province of Styria (working scholarship) (2021), the Monsignor Otto Mauer Prize (2019), the State Scholarship for Fine Arts (2017), the Art Promotion Prize of the City of Vienna (2015), the Theodor Körner Prize (2013), the Art Promotion Prize of the City of Graz (2007), and the MAK-Schindler Fellowship in Los Angeles (2006).
His works have been exhibited at Kunsthaus Graz (2021), Museum of Estonian Architecture in Tallinn, Estonia (2021), Kunsthalle Esch, Luxembourg (2020), Kunstpavillon der Tiroler Künstler: innenschaft, Innsbruck (solo, 2020), at Kunstverein Eisenstadt (together with Peter Sandbichler, 2020), at Kunstforum Wien, Vienna (solo, 2019), at Kunstforum Montafon, Schruns (together with Gelitin, 2019), at MAK Center for Art and Architecture, Los Angeles (together with Alice Könitz, 2018), at Neue Galerie Graz, Universalmuseum Joanneum, Graz (2016), at MAK - Museum of Applied Arts, Vienna (solo, 2015), at MACRO - Museo d'Arte Contemporanea di Roma / Testaccio (2014), at ARTPLAY Design and Architecture Center, Moscow (2011) and at mumok Museum moderner Kunst Stiftung Ludwig, Vienna (2010).Since 2007, he has regularly been responsible for stage design and costume design at Tanzquartier Wien or brut Wien, among others.
