Emily Wittbrodt, born 1994 in Bonn, lives and works in Cologne. She studied classical cello in Düsseldorf, Essen, Helsinki and Florence, baroque cello in Essen and jazz cello in Cologne. The focus of Emily's artistic work is improvisation, composition and interdisciplinary work. Emily created the music for numerous dance and theater productions. Since 2019, Emily has been working regularly with dancer Kenji Takagi, most recently collaborating with dancer Cristiana Morganti on the commissioned work In Another Place for the Musée de l'Orangerie in Paris.
With her bands ephemeral fragments, hilde and schörken wittbrodt she released three albums on Umland records between 2020 and 2022, with the duo Ludwig Wittbrodt on the Ana Ott label in 2020. In 2023 her composition cycle make you stay will also be released by Ana Ott, in the same year the debut album of the trio Vließ will be released by Impakt records.
