Jules Beckman (FR/US)

BIOGRAPHY

Jules Beckman is an interdisciplinary performing artist and teacher from USA, living in France since 2002. He has been making work collaboratively, teaching, and touring steadily in contemporary dance, performance art, theatre, circus since 1987. Jules currently plays his solo Pleasure Test. Since 2014 he has been a member of Needcompany appearing in Marketplace 76; The Blind Poet; The Time Between Two Mistakes; The House of Our Fathers, All The Good, and P.I.E. Other collaborations include Contraband/Sara Shelton Mann, Anna Halprin, I.D.A./Mark Tompkins, Keith Hennessy, Collectif AOC/Karin Vyncke, Lhasa De Sela, Libertivore, Cahin-Caha, Core, Joanna Haigood, Dégadézo, Passaros, Avaleur, Malaxe, Animal Religion, Marlou Theatre and more. Jules’ career has brought him to 30 countries and his collaborations include over 30 full-evening original works and several shorter pieces.
