She is 57 years old, has two kids and lives in a favela: Inês, the heroine of Volmir Cordeiro’s new solo. There is nothing she wants more than to become a reality TV star. But the price to pay for the visibility regulated by the centre of society is high. The Brazilian dancer and comedian Volmir Cordeiro, who has been causing a sensation all over Europe since his debut, Ciel, is fascinated with this character. He conjures her up, talking and dancing, with breathtaking intensity. A metamorphosis takes place before the eyes of the audience, which challenges the established way we look at things: Cordeiro sees himself in Inês and makes us feel the desire for attention as if it were our own.

For 14 years already, the [8:tension] Young Choreographers’ Series has presented new generations of choreographers of the international dance and performance scene. 2015 the series comprises 11 productions, which are all also nominated for the Casinos Austria Prix Jardin d'Europe, endowed with Euro 10,000. It will be awarded by a prestegious jury consisting of Ivo Dimchev, Sigrid Gareis and Faustin Linyekula. For the first time the popular Fan Award will be given away in cooperation with radio FM4 – via online voting you can cast your vote for the artist clip of your heart, as of 04 July!
