Highly topical, explosive subjects are set in relation to each other in this piece: ideology, terrorism and extremism; territory and appropriation; cultural projections, images of the body, erotic projections as well as constructions of fetishes, rites of passage and ideal communities. An ensemble of five rooms in the Weltmuseum serves Claudia Bosse as a stage to create walk-in groups of material from these themes, which evoke fictional as well as actual constellations of our cultural and political (un)conscious in the form of both documentary and fantastic stories. Bosse’s spaces combine the political present and history with rituals and myths. The artist’s objects and structures interact with artefacts and documents from the museum’s collection. They create fusions or juxtapositions, as the case may be, and are put in context with or set against each other by means of acoustic miniatures. The visitors move through the groups of objects and sounds. They populate the entire space installation and can themselves activate the material and the stories.
Opening: 27 July at 19:00.
