"Double Points: One & Two" The dancer is caught up in Maurice Ravel’s Bolero composition as it increases in intensity to the point of unbearableness. He chases his body, hesitates, shakes, follows a path, breaks up and continues. With his piece “Double Points: One” (1999), Emio Greco created a dance masterpiece where he, like a lost ghost, feels his way through the sounds that creep up, let it rip and rage. The duet “Double Points: Two” was made one year before this solo piece. On bubbles of light Emio Greco and his fantastic dancer Bertha Bermudez Pascual dance out a fantasy that looks at the dualism of opposition and cooperation. One part of the stage design in Greco’s solo echoes this duality through posing the symbolic question involving the spaces between poetry and philosophy.
