After a danceWEB scholarship in 2019 Djibril Sall returns to ImPulsTanz with evening.haiku, a performance named after Sonia Sanchez’s collection Morning Haiku, inviting the audience to take time out for an entire evening. Based on the calm and open nature of the traditional Japanese poetic form of the haiku, Sall and the magnificent dancer Sointu Pere examine their profound traumas caused by queerphobia and racism, and hold on to the belief that all pain can be transformed into something else through attentiveness and consideration.
