Can one’s own body – removed from the self, lost in the digital labyrinth – be found in a dream and be reassembled? Based on notes made each day at four o’clock in the morning by the choreographer and performer during a stay in the countryside in the summer of 2018, Mikko Niemistö attempts to do just that in Odd Meters. The result is raving, detached from time, a dance that does not filter but channels – an imposed loss of control based on the illogical nature of dreams in an attempt to bring us a little closer to reality again.
