"Fuga-ce“ Italian-born Austrian dance artist Elio Gervasi artfully brings together a brilliant choreography with a highly charged interpretation of Johann Sebastian Bach’s “ Art of the Fugue” in his short piece “fuga-ce,” which caused quite a stir two years ago when it was shown at the Vienna People’s Opera (Wiener Volksoper). In collaboration with New York-born European by choice Catherine Guerin (co-choreographer of Hans Kresnik’s “BRECHT” and Liz King’s “Swan Lake Remixed”), Gervasi and Guerin have transformed “fuga-ce” into a full-length evening program. Gervasi is acclaimed as one of the most promising proponents of a form of classical-modern contemporary dance in Austria. He is well in tune with how to tap into unknown depths of his dancer’s abilities and surprising his audience.
