"La Sisyphe" With "La Sisyphe" the French choreographer Julie Nioche present a re-worked version of the piece "Les Sisyphe", produced in 2003. Three years after the creation she radicalized this project, which was born from a reflexion on the "unproductive and useless" activities the way modern society defines it. "Les Sisyphe" combined two solitary characters, who had each chosen a way to give their never ending movement a shape, for an enumeration of extensive activities, without compensation, only motivated by the one desire of taking part in the realisation of an act. In this new version, Julie Nioche appropriated the two roles : feminine and masculine. The experiment of the metamorphoses caused by exhaustion, is a solitary test to check ones' own limits.
