„X-ON“
Group piece with objects by Franz West
Since their first meeting at ImPulsTanz 2010, Bulgarian choreographer and performer Ivo Dimchev is intrigued by the work of the highly acclaimed Austrian artist Franz West. Together with a group of dancers, he explores the famous adaptive sculptures "Passstücke" of the artist who this year received the Golden Lion Award for lifetime achievement of the Biennale di Venezia.
„I find the interactive and abstract visual world of Franz extremely interesting to be explored on stage because of its provoking functionlessness which is constantly asking for making contact with it. And here the very welcomed confusion starts: how to make a contact with something that has no function.“ (Ivo Dimchev)
