Benoît Lachambre looks like an old fighting dog, like a vagabond or an avatar, as the protagonist in his solo work about the shedding of skin. Which is not a “fake solo”, as the renowned Canadian choreographer emphasises. He is accompanied in “Snakeskins” by the well-known US American multi-instrumentalist Hahn Rowe and co-performer Daniele Albanese. Lachambre wears some kind of armour that looks like the exoskeleton of an insect, and puts himself on a leash in a tunnel of ropes. For Lachambre, the stage is like a laboratory where it’s all about letting go and what happens when that isn’t possible.
