"[Slik]" They share an interest in breaking down bodies into real and artificial ones, the result of which are conflicts of aesthetic perception and feasibility. These in turn are areas for communication and points of friction in the artistic approach of the cooperation between dancer Silke Grabinger and choreographer Roderich Madl. The starting point of the dancing movement is the clash of two opposites: in [Slik], an internalised form of a contemporary language of movement meets a challenging form of street style and breakdance that is directed towards the outside. The resulting complementary forms of expression undermine the clear-cut dividing lines of individual genres and turn their classifications in the mind upside down. Silk has been engaged in the “Love in Las Vegas” production by Cirque du Soleil since 2005.
