Pre-sale start for 15 selected productions

Today, on 9 May, pre-sale begins for 15 selected performances of the 40^th edition of ImPulsTanz – Vienna International Dance Festival. At Volkstheater, Akademietheater and Halle E, ImPulsTanz spans the spectrum from the greats of postmodernism to the shooting stars of the present. Newcomers include Marina Otero with FUCK ME and Benjamin Abel Meirhaeghe with Madrigals as well as masters well-known to the ImPulsTanz audiences Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker with Fase, Marie Chouinard with « M » and Meg Stuart with All the Way Around. And it is a particular pleasure to see the legendary Lucinda Childs herself on stage twice!

Booking start for 212 workshops and research projects

From 6 July to 6 August 2023, the 40th edition of the ImPulsTanz – Vienna International Dance Festival once again promises an eventful summer and returns to the studios of the workshop centre at Schmelz after 23 years. 212 workshops and research projects by 134 national and international teachers attract dance enthusiasts from all over the world to deepen their skills, discover new styles and try things out in 17 departments. In addition to well-known teachers such as Libby Farr, Kristina & Sadé Alleyne and Jermaine Browne, many new faces will shake up the programme and bring a breath of fresh air to Vienna.

For the 40th edition of the ImPulsTanz – Vienna International Dance Festival from 6 July to 6 August 2023, the workshop centre returns to where it all began back in 1984: to Schmelz. To mark the anniversary, over 130 teachers – including Joe Alegado, Fabiana Pastorini and Perel – invite beginners and professionals of all ages to give their all in Ballet, Jazz, Bodywork, Voguing, Improvisation, Modern Dance and HipHop. Among the performance programme other highlights include international greats such as Meg Stuart and Lucinda Childs and new faces like Benjamin Abel Meirhaeghe or Marina Otero. And with Liquid Loft and toxic dreams, the local scene also announces itself famously.

To mark its anniversary, from 6 July to 6 August 2023 the ImPulsTanz – Vienna International Dance Festival invites to a wide range of international dance icons connected to the festival, exciting discoveries and numerous world premieres from the diverse world of contemporary dance.

After a highly successful festival summer 2022, ImPulsTanz is pleased to network and invite the international dance world to Vienna once again in 2023. In addition to ATLAS – create your dance trails and danceWEB, the continuing education programme ImPacT, which is dedicated to the intensive exchange of students and experienced dance professionals, is offered. In addition, the DanceAbility Teacher course is held for the ninth time already, aimed at those teaching integrative groups in the field of movement arts.
