Black, White, Grey: Who’s afraid?

It seems that my current preoccupation boils down to the question of what different artistic disciplines do. I’m interested how ideas in dance performance and the visual arts meet or not, where they’ve been together all along and where they are maybe better to be kept apart. The history of the institutional spaces of dance performance and visual art and the perception of performing bodies and objects within them will be the starting point of our discussion. We will look at art works, artists, theories and ideas, trying to sketch out where we potentially stand these days.

Physically our starting point will be the movement language and ideas I have been working with over the past 15 years. Lots of Arms, this upper body in between, a body trying to address the world around it or reside in itself. Questions of expression, materiality and language as well as different ways of seeing the body will be leading our daily physical activities. This Field Project involves moving, talking and potentially watching stuff.
