Folktrance – Being Moved

Note: this research project is fully booked, thus we can not accept any more applications!

In this Field Project we will practise states of being moved (trance states) and discover how they support our creative/artistic process and our human development. Being moved means, moving and expressing yourself through a state of flow. Everybody knows those moments when the mind becomes the dictator and challenges us with judgement and overthinking from free flowing, improvising, spontaneity and trusting our intuition. What we offer is the practice of surrendering to the intelligence and wisdom of the body-mind alignment and its co-creation potential, in order to find ways into our full creative and emotional expression, self-empowerment, with clear boundaries, flow and consciousness.

What we propose is a combination of “cognitive trance” and other “being moved” practices. “Cognitive Self Induced Trance” is a practice, which has its roots in Mongolian Shamanism and aims to re-discover the trance potential in every one of us, free from traditional and dogmatic constraints. You will learn how to induce (start) and stop the trance state by yourself in a very profound way and how to use it for the personal, communal well-being and creative processes in your job and private life. Additionally we offer other “being moved practices” to support an easy access into the trance state, to assure the free flow of voice, breath and movement and to help the integration of trance experiences. Therefore a variety of existing and spontaneous traditional forms of “being moved” will be part of the practice: folk and social dances, songs (spinning/waltzing, group- and couple dances) and the powerful resource of “celebration and joy” (Trance-Floor-Practice).

The practices we share will help to detect habits by a process of un-conditioning and lead towards finding your individual, independent and creative way into a free expression of body, mind and soul. This research project is focused on the self-induction and integration of the trance state into your daily life and creative/artistic processes (visions, writing applications, performing, directing, painting, etc.).
