The music is by Richard Wagner, although – or perhaps precisely because – this piece is based on questions of Jewish identity. Argentinian artist Lisi Estaras met her co-choreographer Ido Batash for The Jewish Connection Project seven years ago, when the two of them performed in Alain Platel’s piece C(H)OEURS. Discovering their mutual affinities paved the way for this collaborative work: a touching choreography full of temperament and expression, in which six figures take the audience through the inner conflicts that connect them to their identity. An identity that unites this group despite the differences.
