French critics celebrate her as a “queen” and a “diva”. Catherine Diverrès demonstrates the reason why in an evening comprising two exceptional solos: Ô Senseï and Stance II. Both vibrate in a field of sizzling tension that can only arise from the dichotomy between extreme sensitivity and a keen sense of irony. Ô Senseï is a passionate homage to Kazuo Ohno, who opened Diverrès’ eyes to choreography, and Stance II presents a duet of an exquisite solo dancer with the voice of Pier Paolo Pasolini and his Terra di Lavoro.
