unique – and liked by everyone (12-15J)

the ultimate front figure

This atelier tackles the paradox unique – and liked by everyone. What does the ultimate front figure look like? How does it behave and how does it move? Where can you observe this better, if not inside pop culture? We will analyse image, power and strategies of the music industry. We work with a variety of expressions and examine how Stars are made: We create our own choreography and moves, sing, film and post our own videos on youtube.

We will create fictive idols and look at how we, ourselves, consume. What do we want? How is our taste shaped? Who do we worship and why? How does it affect our own identity? We will take a starting point inside pop culture, but question how society is affected – on a larger scale - by the rules of fame and fortune that the internet sets.

CLÉLIA COLONNA

Clélia Colonna is a French singer and performer based in Vienna. She's creating own and collaborative works such as installations and performances. She likes to make songs and graphical objects and is interested in story-telling, naivity and every-day beauty.

LAURA WEISS

Laure Weiss, based in Vienna, is a set designer both for film and for stage. Her main job in multiple projects is to design spaces in theatre and to make spaces or rooms look great for movies. She works a lot for children’s and youth television and there apart from designing spaces, she is also a prop maker, working in an atelier and handcrafting props in all details. Also trained as a graphic designer and and visual artist in Marseille, France, she also likes working with all kind of materials and mixed/computer generated media.
