To dance, guided by an animal instinct that brings these two together to create a power and a freedom of movement worthy of the animal kingdom. I will take students on a journey through my world of dance, and I want to transmit a sensation of earth. All I do reflects my aim to establish this relationship to the earth: coordination, rhythm, density of movement, choice of music and movement.”
Joe Alegado was a solo dancer of the José Limón Company and a teacher at the José Limón Institute in New York City over many years. From the beginning of the International Dance Weeks Vienna in 1983 he has been on our teaching faculty.
