This workshop is designed to be an exhilarating theatrical exploration with a focus on how Literature, Psychology, Television/Media, and Sensation can take over the body. As a challenge to our creativity, Myth, Madness, Montage, and Melodrama will try to shift the paradigm of generative processes. We will create something that is at once familiar and altogether unknown.
Technical Exercises, improvisatory challenges, reading short stories, and watching short films will be the starting point for the work that we will develop as an ensemble, small groups, and solo. Participants will be encouraged to use what they know and develop a skill they feel is inadequate. In order to develop our toolbox; we must stretch out defaults, and push past the comfortable. A creative impulse has no end with Myth, Madness, Montage, and Melodrama it simply shifts and shifts. Through history, the present, the future, and the unknown; at once we are the creator, the witness, the provocateur, the receptacle, and the documentarian.Raja Feather Kelly
