Guests and Ghosts is a lab exploring how our personal cosmologies influence how we move through the world and how we are present in dance and performance spaces. We bring awareness to forces (personal, cultural, ideological) that structure our somatic, psychic and spatial lives. These forces are always at play or at battle beneath (or on) the surface. What anchors us can also hold us back. Significant limitations are self-enforced and can change radically when we become conscious of them. Explore how attentional and intentional states become action and connection. Play with punk prayer, ecstatic spasms, DIY altars. Channel fertile chaos into precise pleasures. Question the anatomy of ritual, and invent y/our own. Invoke spatial geometries where abnormal things can happen. Give spatial context to underlying forces. Work with the unseen. Dance in a present that is a two-way mirror of past and future. Let go of supposed rules about what, when, how and who is magic.
