Urban Dances vs. Afro/Latino Flow

urbanative package

The emphasis of this particular workshop lies on the influences of the sum of the African, the Caribbean, the European and the Latin heritage, within the Urban Dances and HipHop context. The main difference to European traditional dance schooling is in the movement of the core, which positively impacts the rhythmical and sensory approach to movement. This mix gives an entertaining and social atmosphere into various choreographic and aesthetic adaptations.

A touch of Dancehall: A Jamaican cultural and social dance style.
A touch of House dance: an American cultural and social dance style from Chicago.
A touch of Afro-Latino dance: I will propose a mix of the African dance style and Latin dance styles. I will separate both styles and initiate with the basics, then I will adapt the dancing into the fusion of both styles as connected as they are at the ethnical and cultural level.

Daybee’s dance class will start with a Warm-up Jam Session, in view to prepare and reinforce the muscles, the joints and the cardio level of the participants, combining African and Latin dance basics. Daybee will transmit her Caribbean heritage and influences of those various Urban Dance styles, which defined her artistic individuality.
