"Running Sushi" What is revealed by a glance into the Zen philosophy of a manga household? In an age of animation, fun factors and television shows a very well entertained society is heading towards a "superflat" communicational culture: These surfaces on which reality seems to have been folded down into two dimensions is what Chris Haring and his company liquid.loft—known, amongst other things, for "legal errorist", "kind of heroes" and "my private bodyshop"—tackle in their performance "running sushi". This new work by the successful Austrian choreographer plays as if it was a drawn sequence of an anime story in which a pole vault by the actor leads into a classical pas-de-deux and the Way of the Samurai is replayed while a Feng-Shui experiment takes place in cyberspace.
